No doubt TV can put ideas in your head, and could put the idea of do a shoot out at the school, get some recognition.
Maybe we should look to see if there is a religious profile the shooters have in common to see if that might give some clues?
why are so many youth flipping out and gunning down fellow students?
is there something seriously wrong with society?
does the public education/indoctrination system need some serious tweaking?

i know a lot of people might not want anything to do with any religion and i can sympathize, the bible an ancient collection of books compiled by the catholic church authorities and the some what restricted version by protestant movement we have the less voluminous of collected "holy" books call the king james.
which i think we have a lot to learn from them if we look at them from a more psychological point of view and not force them to be literally understood.. i think it is the same with these sutras, what is it telling us about the mind?
what can we expect from certain meditative practices.
the study edition of august 2018 mentions the 3 reliable news sources for jehovah's witnesses:.
"breaking news" at jw.org.
"news" at jw.org.
If you control the news you got lots power over the masses. That's one way to keep their/jws head in the sand.

Could it be a form of resentment that is being expressed perhaps unconsciously towards the government indoctrination system? After all schools do squash a lot of individuality out of the person in an attempt to unify the masses toward conformity. I think a closer look into the "subject matter/what is taught" of/in the public school systems and it's effects on the psychology of the child should be done. Schools can be a very ruff place on a kid that could lead to this type of stuff especially if some material that is mandated by the government can be shown to be leading to a bad out come. I think these studies need to be made in a most unbiased way possible and feed the info into a super computing AI and see what happens?
Anyway I think a progressive government should do a good study by experts on this matter. Perhaps then we can see something done about it.

You're right, but the tragic thing is that maybe these are symptoms of a bigger problem with society that the public indoctrination is partly to blame for as they are the molders/indoctrinators of US society. Why target a school why not something else what is the message here?

Maybe we could make schools just like airports with metal detectors and pat downs for security? But it would be kind of expensive and I don't think it would ever happen.
Could part of the problem be the public indoctrination/education system needs a complete overhaul in the US. I started school in the 1950s we had some pretty mean teachers that would abuse physically, I remember when I was 10 being knocked around and shoved up against the wall in the back coat room by a teacher trying to get a confession from me. So it could be that maybe if a more in depth investigation could lead to some reforms in the US school/indoctrination system. I think with all these acts of violence a serious look at what school mandated by the state is all about, what it is trying to accomplish, and such is called for.

Today, a lot boys are holed up in their rooms sitting behind computer screens isolating themselves from actual human contact. They have no outlet for the hard wired tendencies they possess and are sometimes given the message that these tendencies are bad or wrong. The men in their life may be absent or unsure of their own role as males. The resulting resentment and frustration they feel festers into mental illness.
Petzahut, I find this very interesting, and I think it is important to honor maleness as well as femaleness and to have healthy outlets for this. I think you may be on to something as a stress relieving factor could have a healthy outcome for male aggressive drives.(This is why Shadow work is so good get to know your repressed tendencies, and honor them, so they don't sneak up on you and bite you in the ass), I hope some major well respected psychologist give us some pointers on this. I'm all for being one's authentic self in a healthy way for them and society in general. One thing sadly lacking in US culture is Rites of Passage which I think might be a solution but how do to get the general public all on board?

I wonder what advice CG Jung would give?

There are studies that suggest that since the "women's movement" young males are becoming increasingly lost because large numbers of fathers are either absent entirely or are distant
That may be a very minor contributor to the problem at best but hardly a major factor in my opinion.I'm leaning toward gun laws and easy gun access as a major contributor, it think that's what make the US have this major problem were as the rest of the world doesn't have this problem to the degree the US does.
